Retno S. Darussalam was born in Jakarta, Indonesia on the June 27th, 1959; Education: Law Faculty, University of Indonesia (S.H., 1983), attended DEA Program (Diplome Etude Approfondie) in the area of Histoire et Civilization at the EHESS (Ecole Des Hautes Etudes Sciences Sociales) Paris IV, France (1995-1996).
Working Experience: Editorial Board of the Law and Development Magazine of the Law Faculty University of Indonesia (1979-1983), Associate Editor of WARTA UI magazine (1978-1980), Lecture staff’s for the course of Human and Indonesia Culture/Custom Law-Law Faculty University of Indonesia (1986), Researcher staff of the Law Faculty University of Indonesia on the Bali Custom Law.
Organizational Experiences: Head Association of Dharma Wanita for the Department of Administration bureau and Foreign Representatives (2007), member of the charity The Diplomatic Neighbours-London Organization (2000-2004), Indonesia Representation on the Women's Council-London in helping the women and children in Asia on their social and law problems (2001-2003), member of the charity The English Speaking Union-London (2002-2004).
She joined Suria Nataadmadja & Associates Law Office in 1984 and handling the cases in non-litigation, specifically in Family Law and Corporate Law. She has actively involved in Education and Promotion through the seminar, workshop, and Panel Discussion organized by Suria Nataadmadja & Associates. She has been actively involved as a Speaker in various seminar held by social organizations in Jakarta.
